The lampshades from Droobski are designed with inspiration from the ancient Japanese art of paper folding moved forward to a modern expression. It’s a hybrid between the ancient Asian origami and the simple tradition of Nordic design. The fibers of the cardboard are pressed together by hand, so each fold retains its intended shape and contributes to the overall expression. All lampshades come with or without 3m textile cord and porcelain socket.
The lamps are made with great respect for the environment. All cardboard is FSC certified. For every lamp sold 15 kr./2€ are donated to Doctors without borders, which makes sense to me when I spend time folding the lampshades. The light breaks beautifully in the fibers of the cardboard. This gives a soft lighting to the challenged light source of the energy saving bulb and LED bulb. This will hopefully motivate to change the last old-fashioned light bulbs.
